2010 Mongoose Bikes
by spoiledgoods
Posted: Sep 8, 2009
Mongoose Bikes sent through some photos of their 2010 lineup. All the new Mongoose bikes not only look good but have a well thought out component groups that makes them cost effective, and weight conscious.
2010 Mongoose bikes inside,
2010 Mongoose bikes inside,
For 2010 the frame and suspension designs for Mongoose did not change much, they more so looked at the color schemes they offered last year, and tried to make their bikes flashier and cleaner. I think they definitely achieved what they were shooting for.
The new Mongoose BootR Team has taken on a color matching scheme for 2010. Last year offered a matte blue finish with flashy orange graphics. For 2010 they have gone with a white and gold motif, right down to the seat post collar. The price has remained the same compared to last years price, at $3999.99 USD.
The new Mongoose BootR received no price change, and will cost $2999.99 USD for 2010. The component changes are substantial, including the suspension, and brakes. This new BootR seems like a better "bang for your buck" bike over last year' model, which means you get more bike for your money, something everyone wants when looking at a new bike. The BootR does not share the same color matched component scheme as the BootR Team, however it does come in a nice red and brown paint job.
For the freeride side of things Mongoose has taken the PinnR Apprentice and changed it up a fair amount. The most obvious change, the color change from matte black to shiny grey makes the PinnR Apprentice a bolder looking bike. The change from Marzocchi suspension to RockShox suspension was made, however they kept Fox for the rear shock. The PinnR Apprentice's price will remain the same for 2010 at $2499.99
The 2010 Mongoose Nugget will cost the same compared to last years Nugget at $2499.99 USD. Besides the color changes there are no massive component changes. They have taken last year's white frame, inverted the color to black, and changed up the graphic design for the most part. Still an amazing value bike for park and trail riders.
The Khyber Super for 2010 has lost its chrome finish, and gained some very unique components. With the recent release of Truvativ's HammerSchmidt, Mongoose has equip the Khyber Super from the factory with this unique crank design. The change from Marzocchi suspension to RockShox suspension was made, and a remote telescoping seat post was added too. The Khyber Super has been transformed into a All Mountain killing machine, and yet the price has remained the same at $3499.99 USD for 2010.
Last but not least Mongoose has also looked into the street, park, and dirt jumping side of their line up and tried to refine it as best as they could. The Ritual Dirt-Hi is the top of the line bike from Mongoose, and just like the other bikes in the lineup it received a price cut for 2010. Coming in at $1199 USD the Ritual Dirt-Hi is the same price as 2009, and features some minor component changes, and a paint job change. Just like the BootR Team the Ritual Dirt-Hi is offered in a white color scheme this year, so if you really wanted you could create a white stable of Mongoose bikes.
All the new Mongoose bikes look sweet and it's awesome to see the price stay the same despite the improved builds. The color matched components add a unique touch, and with the overall component changes I think that you will notice a weight savings too.

The color matched components add a unique touch, and with the overall component changes I think that you will notice a weight savings too.

hopefully they will be available in canada sometime soon, the boot'r is kickass
Wow they placed in my books better than the new norcos and konas. They actually reduced the price, and even upped the spec on one or two component parts on the Bootr teams. I didn't have a closer look at any of the other bikes but Mongoose did a good job with the 010. They look pretty good too.
Mongoose is the king of budget bikes. But these aren't just budget bikes. These are top spec bikes at a shit hot price! I can't believe they can make any profit selling bikes with this spec at these prices. Crazy stuff. Romaniuk can't be getting paid much!
Wow, Mongoose have finally made an awesome hardtail/jumpbike! the 07 Ritual was nice, but the fireballs past couple of years are horrid. this is very nice!
im sorry.. but i like the specs of the bootr but i have to say that frame is just so ugly.. it looks like your just going to ram your bottem bracket.. i havent ridden one but from the looks...its disgusting. i understand the pedal bob and stuff its a great idea.. but it just looks bad imo...
they may look unconventional but pedal great. you should give one of these bikes a try sometime, and not just judge it by looks alone DowNhillFrEeRide854. imo...
Holy hell,
The Khyber Super comes with Truvativ Hammerschmidt, Rock Shox Lyrik U-Turn and Rock Shox Monarch for $3400 that aint bad pricing there.

nice bikes, definity some improvements, espicially dropping the marzocchi's and throwing on the foxs. But didn't look to long at specs. but on the new dirt hi, the dotted logo on the seat tube, i think thats a huge rip off of the rocky mountain flows, except different placing and color.
im not sure why some many people have been riding these. they feel extremely weird. almost like a URT.
You should spend some time on the FreeDrive system. It IS NOT a URT. It is more like a high single pivot with a floating bottom bracket that nearly eliminates chain growth and pedal bob. I love my boot'r team, the only way I would get rid of it is to get the '10 in big pimpin' white!
blackfields57. you do not understand.... i said ALMOST like a URT. the reason behind it having very little chain growth is because of the similarities it shares with a URT. if you ever ride a well done URT it feels very similar to the goose.
A URT doesn't have any anti squat to it the FreeDrive system does which is a HUGE difference. I've owned a few URT from "back in the day" and I have FreeDrive now and there is no comparison.
Mick Hannah took Aussie Natls last winter on a Boot'R before moving over to GT. Josh Button also had the Aussie pro men series over all, Canadian Open 4th pro men. Troy Brosnan Aussie Jr Natl Champ, 1st Canadian Open junior. Check out Romo and Buehler's sections in Kranked 8. The bikes are not holding these guys back at all.

look i wasn't saying it is a URT. it rides similar. you can notice a change in geometry, which can be annoying to some riders. i personally have had time on one. not much. but a few runs and got a decent feel. i can say the same for many frames out there. and i would go as far as saying i enjoyed many other frames much more than the boot'r because of the weird or "different" characteristics the "free drive" system works and feels. face it. THE BB moves similar to a URT. you're feet are still planted but your front and center will change.
Sprockets. i really don't care who rides them. dude.... you could say that about anything the 303, the V10, the 88. shut up.

dayum. this economy is probably driving bike prices down. too bad for marzocchi. only the ritual carries the name
2010 bikes do look good from mongoose, especially the bootR team with the new boxxers. However i dont think the new nugget looks very nice (i have the 09 nugget)
the mongoose boot'r is heaps better than the 09 one cause theyve put boxxers on them and it looks better and its cheaper!!!
i really like what mongose has done! they are pushing hard to get back in the competitive market with quality affordable rigs and i think the 2010 is there! hope people will continue to support them and we will see more people on them at the trails!
Yeah totally agree. I will be purchasing one as soon as my LBS can get them. I heard the spec would be nicer but had no clue the price would DROP! It's a done deal. I can't believe they spec'd it with X0... everything on it is dope. I will let you know what I think once i get my hands on one. Supposedly the suspension has a great feel to it also.
Hey Collin, I Have the 09 Team, nearly stock weighs in at 41.2 lbs. Hope that will at least give you an idea.
Yeah thanks! New set of wheels and tires and i bet i could get sub 40, or close to it. if only crank brothers made gold opiums.
I swapped the rear excavator for a specialized chunder, and then went ghetto tubeless and my '09 was 40.0 lbs exactly.. and that was kinda dirty too.. so they are competitive weight wise..
One thing I do have trouble finding are the weights... it would be nice if mongoose would at least post a weight of a size medium Boot'r Team and Boot'r.
A lot of companies do not publish weights due to varying QC of the parts. 2 tires and 2 tubes can have a difference of close to 1/2 pound, so that makes it tough.
Man the bootr team is soooo nice, i just cant get over the fact that they also sell mongoose at walmart...
And Nisasan is the same company that used to make the B210 and now makes the GT-R. Two totally different price ranges. Get over it.

are you serious? if you have any relationship with a shop, you will pay less then MSRP and at that cost it is less then the retail on the parts alone.. not including the frame..
good i not the only one that noticed that, its still noted on the bottom of the tread, "All the new Mongoose bikes look sweet and it's awesome to see price decreases across the board."
just thought i would point that out
just thought i would point that out
the 2010 Mongoose BootR Team is a fraking dirty bike. why can't they sell these ones at walmart. walmart always has 5 dollar bikes, i want $3000 bikes at walmart now
nice bikes, but can mongoose ever shake the "my first bmx" tag! i like the pinnR even more now it has a taperd steerer on the fork

man, i kinda hope my double black diamond breaks and get comped out with a boot'r, but hot damn, i just can't break it. IMO, these are and have been great bikes. Someday, someday.

u think mongoose is my fav bike brand now. i LOVE the BootR team and the pinnr. the pinnr is on my next bike list
maybe one day walmart will keep these sick mongoose's in stock instead of the 200lb steel frame ones they have...hmmmm. no never gunna happen. crazy set up of bikes they got now though!

I have officially started saving for the 2010 Boot'r team, i thought mongoose out did them selves last year, but this is truly amazing, i would just switch out for a saint drivetrain.
Both Giant and Mongoose reduced the travel on their DH bikes for 2010. Interesting... especially since V10s just came 1st and 2nd at the World Champs, even on a 'pedally' course.
