The police of Sankt Gallen caught a really productive thief. By searching his house there were many premium mountain bikes found.
With all the parts found in the house of the 29 year old thief, a bike shop could have been opened. On some of the bikes there are still the race numbers mounted, which could help to identify the owners.

30, partly high end mountain bikes are now searching for their owners and it looks like the thief had a special eye on Specialized Bikes. A look at the Database of the Sankt Gallen Police Department (http://www.kapo.sg.ch/home/fahndung/sachfahndung/diebstahl_von_teuren.html) is worth for all those who have been a victim of a bike burglary in the past two years.
The police of St. Gallen has arrested a 29 year old man who is under suspicion to have stolen Bikes and accessory in the past two years. By searching his house, stolen goods in the worth of 430.000 US Dollars was assured. The thief was imprisoned.
After months of detection the 29 year old suspect could be arrested. He is suspected being active for a couple of years in the south of Switzerland, beginning to steal Motorbikes and scooters at schools and train stations and now, for around two or three years stealing expensive mountain bikes.
The dimension of the found goods is rare. The police had to order a truck for the transport of the found stuff. 12 policemen were engaged in loading and listing the goods. Here is a short list of what was found (not complete): 250 pair of gloves, 250 rims, 120 new tires, 100 motorbike jackets, 60 motorbike pants, 170 vehicle registration certificates for motorbikes, 70 helmets, 30 high end mountain bikes, 3 motorbikes and a lot of boxes with expensive spare parts."
So it goes to show guys, keep an eye on your bikes, because accidents can happen this fast.

holy f*ck thats up lot what a dick
i say we tie him up on the back of a bike and dragg him down a hella tech rail with some drops in it and see how he likes that!
It sucks to know that people like that have to ruin the sport. I never think twice about leaving my bike at races unattended because I like to think I can trust the people there.
What the f*ck!? what is the need to do any of that? Hes not even selling them or stealing them for his own benefit, just putting them in a basement like an obsessive f*ck up. I hope they execute him publically for all the misery and anger he caused.
The really f*cked up part is this assclown will probably only get a year in jail and some lame fine and have to pay restitution.... You can only hope his cell mate has a 14 inch cock and issues over a bike his dad never got him when he was a kid!
Bad bike karma for that bastard! They caught a guy in Toronto, who ripped
off 3000 some odd bikes over 15 years! Hang'em both!!

yeah I live near toronto and your right. Igor Kenk stole over 3000 bikes and finally he got this summer. He really does make this guy look like a pussy. i'd say prison isn't enough though for this crime. these guys should get beaten slowly every day for the rest of their lives.

They should handcuff this guy to a telephone pole and tell each of his victims "Now you only get one kick to the nuts so make it count!"

man... f*ck that guy. enough said. i worked my ass off to get my bike how it is... if they let me get my hands on the a*shole that steals it... it will get ugly.
Damn I hate those f*cking theives. I would personally and gladly to chop off their hands, feet, and dig out their eye balls so they can never steal again. F*ck it pisses me off!
At least 5 of those are mine. I want them back!
That sucks , I feel so bad for the owners of all those bikes. Hopefully they will get there rides back.
glad he got caught...and being a big hit owner myself, glad he's not still stealing them lol. i say his victims should get to beat him with a pair of handlebars...but that's just me.
i think they should tie him up at bikeparks and put a big bike theif poster with an arrow towards him, im sure he'd get what he deserved.
glad this d!ck got caught.

I had my rocky mtn switch stolen when it was six months old. six months later I got a call from the Arvada police saying they had found it. if your bike is stolen, turn in the serial # to as many police stations as you can. thats the only way for them to get it back to you. The guy who stole mine was being investigated for murder! they then found about 100 grand worth of stolen property, guy had about half as much as this a-hole. keep your serial # written down and be sure to turn it in if your bike comes up missing.
The sad part is, the items that arent claimed will be sent to an auction and sold off to more douche bags at cheap prices with profits going to nobody that actually needs it.
I hope all of it gets returned to its original owners. (likely not to happen though)

Anyone ever hear of kleptomania?
Maybe he wasn't going to sell the stuff, he just suffers from a disorder that causes him to steal based on impulse. With this disorder items are not stolen for personal gain or benefit, they are stolen because of an unconscious perceived value associated with the items. Basically he steals for a rush, a satisfaction, when he isn't stealing he is probably depressed.
Yeah its bikes he has stolen from people, but in reality, its easy to separate a fool from his money. I'm sure most of these thefts came with prime opportunity.... Bikes with race numbers still on them....
This should be a lesson. These people are out there, keep your bitches (bikes) locked down when you are not using them.

dont get me wrong, id probly stab over my bikes, but thats a lil crazy if you have that many stolen bikes, and mx stuff, like ill give him props on the fact that hes persistant, but touch my bike and ill kill ya
props for his crazy thieving persistance? c'mon, don't act stooopid. the fact that he could sleep at night is just disgusting, think of how many people aren't riding due to his persistance.
Just one question how in the hell does he ride all those bikes thats just plan stupid to steal like that grow up man
what? so grow up and only steal what you intend to ride? what the hell is up with that? kind of sounds like a guilty conscience to me.

hopefully he'll fall into the hands of big, lonely convicts who pass him around like a joint the whole time he's in the pen.
this is why i hide my name, serial number and phone number inside my bike.. also anyone who reported there bike missing and has the serial has a chance of getting it back now.Proactive works!
thatsa freekin skrewed up hes so stup right when he got them he should have stoole them there are some really stupid theives out there and heres the stupidest one he stole bike i mean ppl kill for there bikes!! like me id kill some one before thery stole my bike !!!!!

anyone who just steals bikes and leaves them in his basement deserves nothing better than that
