Deity Vendetta Cranks
Recently I started the construction of my street bike for the year, and it has some unique features about it. One of which is a mid bottom bracket, meaning I was forced to use press in bottom bracket cups. This application limited me to BMX style cranks, however, doing a test on BMX cranks would not help you all mountain, freeride, and downhill riders out at all.
Deity has been slaving for 2.5 years on the Vendetta crankset, and after a few quick chats with Eric at Deity, I had my cranks picked out.

Compatible with 68, 73, and 83mm bottom brackets, the Vendetta Crankset has a BMX style construction, but features everything a mountain biker would need, while still being applicable to BMX style bikes.

After 2.5 years of designing, testing, and refining the Vendetta Crankset is finally ready. Deity's goal was to create one of the lightest cr-mo Cranksets on the market, that offered the deepest range of chainline adjustment, a must have for mountain bike riders. The 3 piece design uses a spindle, either cr-mo or titanium, and 2-170mm crank arms, the Vendetta cranks are as basic as it comes. Out of the box the Vendetta Crankset has installation instructions, bolts, spacers, dust caps, and even grease. They feature Deity's own home grown ABS Preload system, Bearing blowout spacers, and self extracting crankbolts. The Vendetta Crankset is all held together with 7075 T6 Hardware, to ensure a strong and sturdy hold.

The installation instructions are dead easy, and if followed correctly guarantee a perfect installation. The instructions even include notes about using other features of the cranks, and the necessary steps to take to ensure they are correct. The final, and probably most strenuous step of installing 3 piece cranks is actually the easiest, which shows me that Deity has put some serious thought into this set up.

While combining visual aesthetics along with a general knowledge base, the Vendetta cranks are extremely light. The kit I installed weighted in at 873 Grams with all the necessary parts, and the cr-mo spindle. Deity also has Titanium spindles available in limited quantity, which brings the kit weight down to 754 grams (119gram savings). Available in powder coated Black, Grey and White, the Vendetta cranks use Deity's 3 classic colors. While providing you with a very durable finish, Deity ensures the Vendetta crank set will last you with their very reasonable warranty. The Vendetta Crankset has a Lifetime Warranty on the Crank Arms, and spindle, and a 50% crash replacement program. As well, Deity ensures the Vendetta crankset has exceptional ankle clearance, and an extremely small stack height on the spline bosses.

Along with the Vendetta Crankset I also picked up a Termite 28 tooth sprocket from Deity. Seeing as the Termite 28 tooth sprocket was designed by the same company, there was no reason why it wouldn't work flawlessly. The Termite 28 tooth sprocket weighs 85 grams, and is machined out of 7075 T6 Aluminum as well. It was designed for single speed use, and features 6 mounting positions so you can keep your sprockets tooth wear to a minimum.

The Termite 28 tooth sprocket is 6.35mm wide, and undergoes the same clear coating process as the cranks for increased durability. It is available in a 25 tooth as well, which weighs 70 grams. Seeing as the Vendetta Crankset works on all bikes, Deity also produced the Alibi 4B and the Alibi LT. The 4B was designed for use with chainguides and bash rings, while the LT was designed for use with e13 LG1, and MRP G2 guides.

may i ask why you didnt run profiles ?
looks the same, brand has more prestige and light weight isnt everything

And the Vendetta's are directed more to MTB's because they are more beefy and meant to fit the bigger bikes. For instance, it comes stock with euro-bb bottombrackets. 68, 73, or 83mm sets.
And there are quite a few BMX bikes that run euro BB's. And there are a few MTB's that run mid BB's. So the BB shouldnt be the thing that makes a difference.
And your comment, they are directed to mtb because they are more beefy is absolutely not even close to true. BMX takes the heavier duty parts being their is no suspension, or big wheels to help reduce shock from inpact. Bmx has stronger parts than mtb will ever have just because of the sheer abuse they see from a combination of things. 48 spoked wheels have no flex most of the time, and send shock from a hard landing right to the cranks, then the rider. Solid cranks are a good example of true street bmx cranks back when. & 7 or so lbs they rocked anything that stood in their way. That is not needed in mtb most of the time because of the other parts helping to relieve stress the cranks will see. For mtb wise, the strongest cranks made are the arms I have on my tomac. Profile dj arms which are the profile ss arms but with a normal spindle to allow for a euro bb being the ss spindle is so big, it would never be able to be utilized with such small bearings. it would make it pointless. The bearings would fail.
They are mtb specific cranks because thats the name they put on them. If they are using the same 48 spline setup everyone else is using they should work with a profile bb in a variety of bb types.
83mm would be the factor theminsta, but they most likely come with diff sizes being not all frames use 83mm and why limit themselves to certain bike brands. That would instantly reduce their possible sales.
Their attention to detail is top notch. I recommend any deity product to anyone.
Only point I had is what I said. Their not originals other than the fact they have allowed better spacing for mtb which profiles don't. It was hard to get my chain line straight with my dj arms, but I did. Just took some fabbing of spacers to get it right. The deity's should be a install and don't worry about anything product so a+ in my book. Thanks for helping the progression of mtb deity... you rock!
and rlee560, gt started in the 70's, at least 2-5 years after profile. It was just hutch and profile in those days
Look around on the profile site. Those 40th anniversary cranks are dope as hell. I want to run em on my bmx race bike just to make me feel like the old days. Looks kind of like the redline cranks but without pinch bolts.
I had to literally custom make my chain guide using a highly modified mrp boomerang, with my own rollers, and 2 sealed bearings. Of course one of my bearings is a lucky skateboard bearing to bring me luck

"This is NOT a BMX crankset" - as far as I can see, that's ALL it is, except with a slightly longer spindle for people with an 83mm BB. That's it. Nothing new, nothing super-special...
Stop buying into the hype.
People say that Deity parts are trendy when in fact they are quality parts that has a passionate company backing them up. I'll take the "trendy" way if it includes quality parts at reasonable pricing with great custmer service anyday of the week. Props to Eric at Deity, keep up the great work!

i know they'll fit euro BMX BB, but mine is bigger than that.
You won't find any of that with Deity parts, they will deal with you directly and fairly. Also, people that flame their prices.....the deity pedals are 15 bucks cheaper than the same ones made by premium bmx products.
