E Thirteen SRS+ - 1 Guide for all styles.

E Thirteen is best known for their chainguides and that is because they have done a great job with creating guides that work on numerous styles of bikes. Using a chain guide on your gravity propelled bike is common place these days. Downhill racers require them to ensure top spots as no one wants a dropped chain in a race run.
e13 recently went back to the drawing board to refine their current offerings and back to the playing field with some sexy new pieces to hang your chain off of. Sexy, light and strong is the new e13 SRS+ with a "TurboCharger". Learn more inside...

E Thirteen has aided many riders to the top of the podium over the years, so I think it's safe to say that they have a good idea on how chain guides work. They have to be strong for impacts on the bash ring, but not heavy for weight savings. They also have to be adjustable and adaptable for a variety of bikes. The SRS+ has enough adjustment to fit the vast majority of bikes on the market, while still providing World Class chain retention, and protection.
The heart of the SRS+ is the boomerang. Designed around fitting any bike, the lower roller has 3 adjustment holes. Narrow, Regular, and Wide. This refers to the space between the chainstay and the lower roller. Some bikes have a lot of drop on the chainstay, meaning you would have to run a lower pully, which the SRS+ accommodates for. Others can run a high roller, and all the in betweeners can run regular. The SRS+ uses the new Tech 3 Stealth idler. Basically it's a well designed lower roller, that has been made specifically for the SRS+. The upper wearplate has no adjustment, however E Thirteen claims it needs no adjustment.
The soul of the SRS+ is the all new TurboCharger bash ring. The TurboCharger is E Thirteen's strongest bashguard ever, and is the lightest weight of any comparable bashguard's in the world. E Thirteen's TurboCharger bashring features their revolutionary patent pending flexure design, which absorbs impacts and directs them away from your chainring. The TurboCharger features 7075 T6 Aluminum inserts in it to ensure a strong fit on your bike.
Constructed with all Alloy Hardware that has been anodized gold the SRS+ looks great in both of its colorways, black and white. The SRS+ guide is claimed at 195 grams, including the 3 bolts needed for installation. It is offered in 36T and 40T options, comes with both ISCG and ISCG 05 boomerangs and have a respective ISCG adapter plate included should your bike not have guide tabs. The SRS+ is compatible with all four bolt cranksets. It retails for $149.99USD and is available through your local bike shop.

e13-so sick
white is always cool...but on chainguides and bash, i dont think its a good idea...and, how stressfull will be to clean mud out of those bash-guard slots eh?!
its a knock-off of the gamut-p series guide! even the bash guard, impact absorbent cut-outs, gamut has already done that more effectively! its not that i dont like it, its is sick, but it a knock-off.
its nice but instead of just advertising all their products how about they get off their ass and start making them. How long have they been showing these off and they still are not out yet.
they just came out, so many people were waiting for such a long time for them. They were showing them off WAY before they were in production and kept pushing the release dates back.
some people up here are still waiting for theirs. Just because it is in America does not mean it is everywhere or even anywhere else.

Looks uber sexy when paired with Saints. However that bashguard looks like it's mounted with inner side facing up.

and also to be fair when you are riding a DH bike hard and fast like sam does stuff like that is going to happen
yeah but it depends where the chain was when it snaped, maybe he but to much force when pedeling, perhaps a rock hit the chain were the guide was not there, there is a few factors to it but i think the whole bash gard thing should be left out of it
How does the turbocharger line up with the wear plates/guides given the new offset in the 09 saints spider tabs?
space out the whole backplate via spacers between the backplate and iscg mounts to get the perfect line
The tabs on the new Saint are thicker so I think WHL1 is bringing up a good point again with the Saint Cranks. Unless the tabs are modified or the bash has recesses in it, the E.13 srs+ is going to have issues. Shimano royally screwed up the tabs on the Saints!!
i had to dremel out my gamut to get it to fit my new saint cranks, so if the e-thirteen works with em, its a point for e13.
but i do miss my old srs, it was indestructible.

in an article on sicklines.com a while back they said that according to e-13 the srs+ does NOT work well with the new saint cranks. They said it works a bit bit better with an e-13 guide ring but is not ideal and they suggest the lg-1+ for '09 saint cranks. It is too bad because they look great together.
The best solution for the new Saints is to use a standard step chainring with a regular bashguard. The stock Saint ring/bash each have 2mm step and indents. Of course, you could avoid this entirely with a backplate mounted Taco bash system (LG1+).

2 ideas, you could buy an SRS+ and sell the bash ring and just keep the saint bashring that is specifically designed for the cranks.
or you could just fit both the ring and bash on the outside of the tabs, then space the backplate out.. either way, the athertons use saint cranks and E13 guides, so must be possible.

The Athertons run the LG1 and now the LG1+. Previously with their Supreme DH rigs, it was required that they run their chainring on the outside position with the backplate spaced out for a proper chainline, but with the new 09 Supreme DH they can run it normally.

that bash gaurd may be lighter clean, but after 5 mins of riding it'll be full of mud and heavy as...
and you'll spend a lot of extra time getting that mud out..
been there done that with marzocchi 08 forks as well, the crown has some combs similar to those found on turbocharger

I have the new SRS+ an it doesn't clog with dirt or mud at all.
The 'webbing' is perpendicular to the tire spray so in reality it sees very little dirt at all.
Unless you ride in mud up past the BB, clogging is a non issue.

mud gets everywhere when it's proper wet- especially here in the capital of averagely bad weather- britain.
£110GBP (dunno how many dollars that is) for the SRS, thats the same as the old ones and about the same as most of the top end chain guides

f*ck it looks soo so nice and strong too, didnt even need to read the artical about it before i freaked out!
Wth up with you guys whining about it bein a bitch to clean.. a hose with enough pressure on'll do the cleanin.. looks sick!
Broke the new Turbocharger bash in one hit. One Hit. Somehow I expected it to hold up better. Ultra light means easily busted. I'm not super impressed when its all said and done.
Feel free to email them to me as well:

The only way I can see the bashguard breaking in one hit is if you had it installed incorrectly. Check out the main page on our site for Tech Tip #1. www.e13components.com
One of the logos on the Turbocharger should be hidden behind your crankarm.

For those of you worried about the bashguard lining up with the 2009 saint cranks it lines up great fits them with no problems at all Ive been riding the SRS+ with saint cranks for almost 2 months never had a single issue.
