Pinkbike.com goes Graffiti - New Shirts!

Posted: Mar 3, 2009

Hey folks. In the midst of all the snow melting, sun shining, and temperature rising we took some time to throw a new t-shirt option your way. Recently we did some work with Extention, a very well rounded artist who happens to be a biker as well. He provided us with a rocking graphic, so here you guys and girls go.

The Pinkbike.com Graffiti Shirt...

That is right, we took some time out of our busy days to create a nice new graphic. Ok, we lied. Extention uploaded some photos a short while ago of some very nice graffiti work he had done. After a short while Extention had a graphic designed for us and it was ready to hit the printers.

So folks, here we go. I give you the Pinkbike Graffiti shirt hot off the press!

Graffiti is something a lot of elders frown upon, however, it is not all "drunk teenagers scribbling names on walls". Graffiti is an art style, and just like all others arts, it is designed to share the artist's passion for his or her work. Sure, we do see a lot of pointless graffiti within the city, and on the trains passing by. But if you've ever seen a large scale professional painting, it is amazing and has obviously taken some time and talent.

The Graffiti shirt has been printed on the same high quality t-shirts you have come to know Pinkbike for. Offered in Navy Blue and Grey, the Graffiti shirt is sure to draw some eyes your way. As well, we have placed a Pinkbike logo on the back shoulder for the followers.

So head on over to the Pinkbike Store and pick up a Graffiti shirt while the first run is still around. Also, feel free to comment on the story for any colors you would like to see in the future. By the way, if you have any artwork you think could be Pinkbike.com T-shirt material, send it on over in an email to jordanholmes@pinkbike.com. Thanks for reading.

Mabey if that logo was on the back it would look better, but I still have my doubts with the design.

They are pretty well true to size.
Not slim fitting, just a regular t-shirt.

Please remember that we pay for each color,
and it happens to be a 6 color shirt.
If you feel you can design a better logo for us, have at er. It says at the bottom of the story how you can get in contact with us.

Should get a printer that can do 4 colour process, then you are not as limited. Even on a black shirt it will take five screens.

Extension, I like some of your designs in you book, but I can't help but feel that a PB graf shirt is nothing but a attention-grabbing graphic clichés. Like most graf it is repetative, regulated and highly formalized.

I am sure this will appeal to the "youth graf is cool crowd", but honestly the design does nothing for me

I would have rather seen your other work on a shirt, your other work is raw...

I was limited to only six colors and the design had to be readable so I could not do my usual style. It is hard to design something that everyone will like and the fact that it is graffiti makes it that much harder because some people love it and some hate it. Also within the graff community you have people that like differant styles such as Pingu who said it looks like it was designed by a toy. I have been writing for 12 years and have been paid as a profesional for painting murals and designing T-Shirts so I think I am past being a toy.

Yeah It would be great to print it using CMYK but you also have to keep the cost down if you want to make a profit.

Thanks to Pinkbike for the opportunity.

Cost for four colour process would have been just as much to print the shirts (if not less). Really it would come down to the screen printer.

As I said your other work is raw..and is interesting, and would have made a better shirt. They should have let you go with your own style, it would have been tons better.

just because you have been writting for 12 years dont mean you have a nice style and lettring.. I saw your sketchs and you have a nice style, you know how to mix the colors, and stuff, but your lettring looks nothing special.. just my opinion.. as you said, some like it others dont..
