RUN DMC or PNK BKE
by spoiledgoods

Anyone who listens to Rap or Hip Hop influenced music has heard of the old group called RUN DMC. Run-D.M.C. was an influential hip hop group from Hollis, in the Queens borough of New York City. Pinkbike has taken the classic RUN DMC shirt, and incorporated our own design into it, coming up with the PNK BKE shirt.

We're always trying to come up with innovative ways to express our love for riding, and our love for other influential things in our live - like music. The newest shirt in our lineup, the PNK BKE shirt features a very basic graphic, screened on a Navy shirt. This basic graphic features PNK BKE written in large block letters.

Just like our other shirts, the PNK BKE shirt will only run you 20$, a comfortable price for a nice shirt. These new shirts are printed on a lighter weight material for a softer touch and to help you ventilate during the summer time, while still wearing the clothes you like.

Snazzy!
I'm not liking any of the PB designs. This one is my least favorite. Revolution would have been cool, but the guy on the bike is just sitting, I prefer the one where he is hitting a wooden drop. The take flight one was alright...I would never spend any money on one. IMO D26 has way better MTB shirts, But hey, PB is just starting with the shirts, so they have nowhere to go but up...er down lol.
I like this idea, but the writing looks like a cheap sticker. Why not screen print it? Also, the font looks off. Nice try.
is this supposed to suggest that theres no 'I' in riding? because if it does i think the whole concept of this shirt is kinda off lol
suicide desine your own template email pinkbike it maybe they will sell it if its nice you never know!
Yeah, But they won't pay me. They didn't pay any of the other designers or give any recognition for the revolution shirt. pass. lol
I agree... this Run DMC shit is korny... I hate how bike companies see popular prints and try to copy it with their own logos... You know what? I guarantee these Pinkbike shirts would sell 5 times as hard if they just said "pinkbike.com" on them, came in all kindsa colors and were sold at fleamarkets or in stores really cheap... It would get alot more advertising done and alot mroe people would be able to sleep at night knowing that they're representing pinkbike w/o breaking the bank for cheesey Run DMC look alike shirts. I know people like quality t-shirts but truth is, a lot of us aren't made of money even though our bikes ARE lol I'd rather pay $20 for 5 cheap pinkbike Ts that are just gonna get ripped up from riding anyway
ye, should look like the vandal designs tee

or criminal damage http://www.criminaldamage.co.uk/view/shop/boys-clothing/t-shirts/detail/363
but with the vandal tee, 100% of the money goes back in to supporting trails, events and riders. none profit, rider run company.

Don't get me wrong...I liked RUN DMC back in the day. Even saw them in concert! But I'm growing tired of the practice of reworking logos and throwing them on a shirt. This logo wasn't great to begin with.
Anyhow, if you insist on turning an already crappy logo in to your new shirt design, at least pay attention to the details. Take a closer look at the original logo. Go with a thicker/heavier font and then kern the letters. The awkward spaces between each one just makes things worse.

i have never heard someone use the word ill to describe something being cool.

fullbug, I guess you don't know what 'real' hip hop is, beacause the last time I checked, cats like Madlib, Foreign Legion, Cassette City, Outkast, Starving Artist Crew, J Dilla, Prefuse73, Jurassic 5, Swollen Members, Blackalicious, Lyrics Born, People Under The Stairs, Skinnyman, Roots Manuva, Talib Kwali, Dead Prez, Mos Def, Peanut Butter Wolf and Dilated Peoples (this list has no end) were making 'real' hip hop. And they are bringing the heat as we speak...stoopid.
wow, u got bent. i like alot of these artist you mentioned. i really dig Mos Def. I just like the much older stuff krs,pe...i guess "stOOpid" gets your point across, right?peace.

Why should the brand change your mind?
If you like the shirt, buy it man. Shouldn't matter if it says Gucci or phunkt on it.

im saying i would never drop a tonne on a printed tshirt, they cost about 1% of that to make if you buy in big enough batches.
its utterly sickening to think that a company could value there own shirts at that price, anything above 30 is rediculous.
surely its audacious of the company to assume theyre worth so much?! at the end of the day its just a printed shirt, surely the end user should decide if its of that value.
as an end user, i dont place that much value upon a crappy mass produced printed shirt.
if it was hand made out of unicorn hairs then maybe.

Wow, you must sell thousands!! How do you manage to keep enough in stock?? An original RunDMC t-shirt, hand woven by the the reverend himself wouldn't cost that much

Agreed, sorry guys but they new designs are seriously lacking creativity,
Perhaps a t-shirt designing contest is in order?

OK. So given all the beef being spouted here, might I suggest PB run a t-shirt design comp? There are A LOT of ideas out there, so let's see some submissions.
All in favour say 'AAAIGHT'!

I think its great to see new shirts coming out. Not every one is going to like every shirt so the more options the better. Instead of just saying it sucks how about you say what you would want to see on a shirt.
