POC Protection releases the Receptor.

Posted: Nov 14, 2008

After POC's 3 short years of work in the Snow Protection business the Swedish company has made the transition to mountain biking lids. Utilizing the same basic design as there snow helmet, the Receptor Flow is POC's answer to the needs of mountain bikers in general. Designed with endless adjustments, a functional ventilation system, and offered in 4 different color schemes, the Receptor is a very unique helmet.

For those seeking a more ventilated bike helmet, optimized for low weight and user comfort, the POC Receptor Flow is an excellent choice. Safety is kept at a high level thanks to the advanced shell from the Receptor+ helmet with an EPS liner optimized in density to match perfectly with the shell. The adjustment system provides a simple way to customize the fit of the helmet.

POC Says:
"We have listened to the demands of our pro riders, seeking for a more slim design that grips snugly around the head to stay comfortably in place during the various movements of the head that takes place while performing tricks in the BMX park or riding a bumpy Dirt track."

Features:
Light EPS liner optimized in density
Maximized ventilation
Size adjustment system

The Receptor Flow helmet is equipped with a unique size adjustment system, making it possible to adjust both the circumference and the vertical position of the helmet.

Nice graphics, looks promising, world needs more nice helmets to make more PPL thinking that wearing the helmet is cool and helmet rox... and riding without it is not cool, pro, groovy, rocky, jezzy, cheesy, or whatever you call it.

"...the Receptor is a very unique helmet."?

Bullpoop.

The only unique thing about it is its name and the "4 different color schemes".

they have input from PRO riders, so that makes it special.

More like its unique for its adjustment system.
Thats the first helmet i have seen that is horizontally and vertically adjustable, with such a simple system.

not that they have input from PRO riders.....

This helmet is just the beginning, wait until you see the rest of the line, absolute the safest protective gear, period.

As for Canada, nobody has this stuff yet, it isn't released until 2009 and yes canada will have POC dealers in every province!

Looks like some good kit. Just a suggestion regarding future helmet reviews, I would like to hear about compatibiity with mounting night light syystems. It appears that the top vents would be suitable for strapping on a night light. Many "skate lid" styles aren't always compatible with mounting night lights.

Hey, just saw the POC snow gear in Whistler a week ago at Surefoot. It looks pretty good.

But man, this helmet...I'm not too sure. Although it might be comfy, the rest looks VERY average. It's just marketing! A nice logo, a cool explanation and they can give it a huge price mark. And with all these vents it looks like a rafting/kayaking lid. =P

Quality is there, no doubt about that. But much higher than average price tag vs. slumping economy = ???.
