April 16, 2008Published by spoiledgoodsIn just a little over 48 hours from now, the new and highly anticipated movie from Clay Porter, the docu-style feature on the 2007 Downhill race season "F1RST", will make its world premiere at the Golden State Theatre in Monterey. (417 Alvarado Street).
Since the release of the trailer and the innovative print ads, interest in the movie has increased dramatically and resulted in a further 8 Regional Premieres around the world already confirmed and several more on the way. The World Premiere is a ticketed event with limited seating. Tickets will be available this Friday during the day at the Fox Racing Shox booth at the Sea Otter Classic as well as from the Golden State Theatre as of tomorrow. Tickets are $10, and admittance is strictly by ticket only. About F1RST: "From Clay Porter, the filmmaker who bought you the 2007 break out docu-style movie “Between The Tape”. Packed with slamming race footage from the 2007 world cup season and the highly anticipated World Champs in Scotland, as well as footage of the sport's biggest stars in their home territory, ripping it up for clay's cameras. The Athertons at night with cable cam, Minnaar and Peat hunting trails in South Africa and Sam Hill killing down under, to name a few. Like Between the Tape, F1RST is a documentary, shot in stunning locations all over the world including South Africa, Eastern Europe, Austrailia the UK and of course the USA. Picking up where Between The Tape left off, Porter has a unique way of getting the stars to open up in front of his cameras, speaking candidly with words and power slides. No other film captures the rarified air of the race scene quite like F1RST." F1RST is the highly anticipated follow up to the 2007 runaway success "Between The Tape", and like BTT is a documentary about the sport of downhill mountain bike racing and specifically the 2007 World Cup Series. FIRST was shot in stunning locations all over the world including South Africa, Australia, and from the USA to Eastern Europe and the UK. The feature length movie highlights the world's greatest downhill racers both on and off the course, praising their race abilities and nudging them into candid interviews about their lives and their first experiences with the sport. F1RST breaks new ground in documenting the extreme and comparatively young sport of downhill mountain bike racing, and does so with a depth and intensity not seen in the sport. The film has already received financial support from the bike industry; in particular Fox Racing Shox, Santa Cruz Bicycles, decline Magazine, Troy Lee Designs, FUNN, e.thirteen components Formula Brakes and Adidas eyewear.
